FACTS & TRIVIA
Throughout the 15 years I have been researching the family tree lots of family stories have been retold by members of the family some proved to be true many proved to have some truth but had been twisted along the way and others didn't make sense until we had done lots more research. Added to that are funny things that we find, strange names, strange coincidences, and just things that made us laugh, here are some of them

FALSE
Among the Lake family in the UK it was a long time belief that we were related to the American Film & TV Actor "Arthur Lake"
He appeared in U.S. TV shows Blondie & Gang Busters and in Films including Indiscrete with Gloria Swanson & On With The Show with Betty Compson. Unfortunately to date we have found no connection to this star.

THE UK CENSUS
The first official UK Government census was held in 1801 and is held every 10 years, but names were not included on any census until 1841.
No census was held in 1941 due to the war but a mini census was taken in 1939 for the issue of National ID Cards.
Currently UK census' are only released to the public after 100 years. In Canada it's 90 years and USA it's 70 years.
On the 2001 census 400,000 people listed their religion as
Jedi Knight.
We have some famous "names" in our tree but they are not the famous people of the same name:
John Adams. Arthur Ash, George Best, James Cook, Harry Corbett,
Henry Ford, Elizabeth Fry, Jimmy Greaves, Aaron Neville, George Osborne, Mary Peters, Will Rogers.
Fishy surnames include: Crab, Cod, Herring, Fish, Guppy, Pike, Roach & Salmon.
